FEATURED JOB OPENING: Run a Boutique Inn - Washington
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
We are looking for a responsible, personable, hard working, high-integrity couple to manage our highly-rated Inn located on a beautiful destination island in the Pacific Northwest.
This is a full-time, long-term position, and includes an apartment to live in on-site.
As the on-site managers, you will be responsible for:
- Being the face of the Inn to our guests, running the front desk, answering the phone, etc.
- Working collaboratively with the owners, taking responsibility for all aspects of the operation
- Overseeing and assisting the housekeeping staff
- Performing hands-on property maintenance and minor repairs
- Participating in strategic planning, marketing, community relations and social media
- Hiring and managing housekeeping and front-desk relief staff
- Managing and working with outside vendors and repair persons
- Assisting housekeeping, stripping and checking rooms, washing and folding laundry, etc
- Backing up all other positions as necessary
- Doing whatever is necessary to ensure the success of the business and the wellbeing of our staff and guests
This is a full-time position in the summer, and potentially less than full-time in the winter. We are looking for a high performing, energetic couple with tremendous professionalism, integrity and a passion for guest service, who can embody the role of "Innkeeper" with all that entails and have physical and mental stamina to work an intense high season.
This is a great position for a couple with a passion for being Innkeepers, who love small-town life, and can take responsibility for all aspects of operating the property.

Retired or Semi-Retired Dynamic Caretaking Couple
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Seeking a retired, or semi-retired couple, with outside income to help caretake a rural property in the wine country of northern California. No vines!
Exchange work for 2B/1.5 bath private, gated, residence with great views of Mt. St. Helena. Fully furnished - inc. dishwasher and W/Dryer inside. 2 wood burning fireplaces (lots of wood from property) and 1 electric in master.
Desire interest in gardening to help maintain small orchard (pears, apples, figs, lemons, pineapple guava). Pruning, weeding and general assistance during spring, summer and fall. Water and tend greenhouse in winter.
Work over the exchange would be discussed, and a fair hourly, or project wage, would be agreed upon. Lots of expansion possibilities throughout the property, and your ideas would be encouraged and welcome.
Knowledge and experience with irrigation, minor plumbing, and electrical are a plus.
Must have a reliable vehicle, as no public transportation services are available in this rural area.
No smoking - No drama - No party types, and at this time - NO PETS!

On-site Caretakers - Kamloops Lake, BC
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
The primary areas of responsibility are:
Managing Water Treatment System
Landscape Work
Minor Maintenance
Monitoring Security
Specifically, the main activities will be:
completing daily and weekly checklists at the water treatment
testing chlorine, topping up brine and chlorine tanks as required
collecting water samples for weekly testing by Health authorities
starting and stopping irrigation, moving sprinklers, etc.
cutting and trimming one small lawn area
maintaining water level in fire/irrigation tank
inspecting the dock and performing small repairs
pulling weeds, pulling weeds, pulling weeds ;)
The Strata development is located on the North side of Kamloops Lake (across from Savona, BC) and has only 10 cabins. Each cabin title also has a serviced RV site. The sites are occasionally rented but most frequently used as guest houses by the cabin owners.
There are no common washrooms or showers so there is no bathroom cleaning required. Expectations for the caretakers are a combined total of 20-30 hours of work per week. Compensation is modest (reflecting the low hours required); however, the pay approved by the Strata has been increased over previous years.
The normal operating season for the resort is April 1 - Oct 15 with some flexibility on either end. A limited corporation registered with Worksafe BC is recommended.

We are now hiring current season staff for office, maintenance, housekeeping, snack bar and pool attendants. Your RV site includes cable TV, water, electric, sewer. Your propane is at cost. We supply work shirts. You get discounts on souvenirs in the store. You get laundry allowance added to your paycheck once a month.

Volunteer Cook(s) - Portales, NM
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Volunteer Cook(s) to help out over the summer for occasional groups of approx 30-40 people. We provide all food and commercial kitchen.
We are a non-profit children's home and occasionally welcome volunteer work groups to help with repairs around our campus. With a very small staff, we are hoping that the right couple can help us out by cooking for the groups. This would be approx 1-2 weeks each month over the summer.
We will provide an RV site including water and utilities. In addition, we will provide access to swimming pool when it is not being used by the children.
