Facility Managing Couple - FLAGSTAFF, AZ
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Facility and Land Manager Couple
Roden Crater, located in the Painted Desert region of Northern Arizona, is an unprecedented large-scale artwork created within a volcanic cinder cone by light and space artist James Turrell. Representing the culmination of the artist’s lifelong research in the field of human visual and psychological perception, Roden Crater is a controlled environment for the experiencing and contemplation of light. It takes its place within the tradition of American landscape art that began in the 1960s, requiring a journey to visit the work in the remote desert with truly dark night skies. While minimally invasive to the external natural landscape, internally the red and black cinder has been transformed into special engineered spaces where the cycles of geologic and celestial time can be directly experienced. It will constitute a truly culminating phenomenon in world art. The Skystone Foundation is a 501(3)(c) non-profit private foundation created to operate the Roden Crater and related exhibits for charitable, scientific and educational purposes.

Manager and cook wanted for a beautiful eco-lodge in a coffee farm in the Mountains of Northern Nicaragua - Matagalpa
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Our ideal management couple will have a good level of Spanish and a passion for cooking, this live-in position is for 4-8 months (depending on the applicants) in a beautiful eco-lodge set in a lush coffee farm in the mountains above Matagalpa city in Nicaragua.
Position is available from early/mid May 2017 and we will provide at least two weeks of training (ideally 3 or 4 weeks, with a few short breaks away from the lodge to help process the learning), practice and planning to ensure you are confident when we depart. Whist we are away we will be available online to help answer questions and deal with challenges as they arise but we are hoping to find a management team who will be able to take on this role without too much supervision. This is a dynamic and sometimes demanding job, both physically and mentally, where each day will be different. The lifestyle rewards are more than worth the effort!
We are Pete from England and Anna from New Zealand and we have spent the last 14 months setting up a new tourism business in a coffee farm in the lush Mountains of Northern Nicaragua. Our business is called Finca Musica del Bosque and you can find us on Facebook, Instagram, tripadvisor, Air Bnb or on our website. We have a small eco-lodge, which was built 5 years ago, with 4 guest bedrooms and a large double room for the management couple. We have four chickens and a small piece of land for growing vegetables. We are looking for a couple with some experience of home maintenance, a good grasp of Spanish, a drivers license to drive our Toyota Hilux 4x4 truck and a passion for cooking healthy vegetarian food. We are 20mins drive from Matagalpa city, only accessible by 4x4. After the drive we have a 10minute walk up a hill to reach the lodge - we are a little off the beaten track, but thats one of the things that makes it a special place to live! We have some local transport options available for guests but we also pick people up from the city centre fairly often.
The lodge is a beautiful place to relax and unwind and we have built up a reputation of having comfortable and clean lodging, great coffee and farm tours in English and tasty vegetarian food from our cafe. The management team would be required to serve breakfast (4 simple options), lunch and dinner (both served family style with everyone eating together). We would love to hand the keys over to a confident and experienced couple looking for an escape to the cooler climate of the mountains surrounded by forest and wildlife. Previously, we have given management a generous share of the income from the hostel, this has worked fairly well and we are currently reviewing how this system will work going forward. Our lodge is perfect for groups, yoga classes, cookery lessons and many other group activities depdning on the skills and experience of the managers.
The work consists of managing guests enquiries and bookings, all cooking, transport, provisioning, general maintenance of building, cleaning on occasions, although we have a local cleaner to help and to do the washing of the sheets. It's a wonderful life we have in the mountains and would suit a fit couple that love nature, meeting people and have a passion for a healthy life.
Please forward us your CV and a covering email to introduce yourselves and once we have a shortlist we will be arranging discussions over Skype or whatever works.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Gracias,
