Cabins Caretaker (Couple) - Adirondack Mountains, NY - Willsboro, NY
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
A family-oriented vacation spot located in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, is in need of two caretakers for the summer season (June to mid September). The contract rate will be based on the number of weeks that can be committed to and hours worked per week (32-40 hours). The position includes free housing in a modest, shared 2-bedroom lake view cabin.
The caretaker will perform the following duties:
(applicant should have basic knowledge of the following activities)
- Cabin repair/upkeep: carpentry, plumbing, roofing, electrical, screens, decking, steps, painting, flooring, water lines, septic systems, etc.
- Project assessment, getting supplies and materials at local stores (Long Pond vehicle may be used) and seeing projects to completion.
- Clean cabins for 4 hours on Saturdays and as needed during week.
- Assist guests in lighting propane gas heaters and in preparing woodstoves (includes bringing firewood to cabins and removal of ashes).
- Lawn maintenance and grounds work: raking, mowing, weeding, cleanup of branches/trash, fill in potholes, etc. May involve use of chainsaw, weed whacker, and power mowers. Responsible for light maintenance of equipment, as appropriate.
- Beach maintenance: rake beach, clean docks and floating raft, pick up trash, trash disposal.
- Painting: interior and exterior.
- Maintenance of recycling area and removal of recyclables .
Applicants must be able to work independently and be self-motivated. Must have a valid US driver’s license. Applicants must have their own automobile for personal use. Caretaker is responsible for own meals and regular cleaning of their cabin. Pets are not allowed. A couple will be considered.

The House Managers are responsible for the direct supervision, care and nurturing of up to 4 adult males with developmental disabilities. This position requires a strong desire to care for 4 adult male residents with developmental disabilities in a home and farm environment. Prior experience is preferred but not required. The primary priority of the House Manager is to work in the best interest of the resident(s).
He/She will work together with the Executive Director and others to successfully implement training goals and objectives necessary to foster the spiritual, physical, mental and vocational development of each resident. House Managers deliver daily quality care and supervision of residents as well as performing general household duties to include planning and preparing meals, cleaning and upkeep of house and grounds, transporting residents, and other duties as required by the position.
The House Managers must model high moral behavior in the home and have the ability to share those qualities as they apply to daily group home life.
Candidates must pass a legal background check and have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Employees will operate a company vehicle for resident transportation and farm work. Salary and benefits are competitive. Private living quarters are provided in the residents’ house.
