Caretaker Position - Sonora, TX Ranch Job Description

* Care for a 5.5 section ranch with goats, horses, llama, donkeys, dog, and cats.

*Graze cattle and sheep, raise goats.

* Perform ranch chores: check water and fences, feed horses, feed stock if needed, mow grass, store and distribute fffeed, tag and sell goat kids.

* Maintain wells and water pipes.

* Assist with projects: replace water lines, building restoration.

* Care for owner's dog when they are away.

* Assist hunters during hunting season: copy paperwork, change sheets, light cleaning.

* Opportunities for additional income: work for hunters, skinning deer, filling feeders, etc.

 Requirements

* No drugs, no felons (neither husband or wife), no children.

 * Must have an indoor dog that gets along with the owner's dog.

* Gun safety is a must.

* Basic skills are a plus but not required: carpentry, tractor and backhoe operation.

* Willingness to learn and work independently.

* Schedule 40 hours per week over 7 days.

* Reduced hours on weekends and holidays.

 * Workload adjusted for extreme weather.

Compensation * $700 per week ($300 towards housing).

* One week paid vacation per year, increasing to two weeks after two years.

* Potential for additional income from hunters.

* Two-bedroom house with modern appliances, washer/dryer, self cleaning gas stove and storage building.

* Housing includes, water, electric, propane, internet, shared landline, indoor washer/dryer, and access to a *commercial ice machine
