We are seeking full-time, long-term, mature Caretaker/Working couple with no children with a passion for animals.  Three to five years equine experience, donkey and mule experience is a plus!  Currently, we have 13 donkeys and 4 mules.  All are geriatric, most take medication, need special attention, especially hoof care.

Additional duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to: security, care and maintenance of private estate and sanctuary, mowing grounds, clearing fallen trees, pasture management, fence repair, barns, shop and buildings repair and operation and maintenance of equipment.

As in all farm jobs, this is not a normal 8:00-5:00 job, it is a lifestyle.  With all animal jobs, the unexpected always happens and more time might be required.  Our main priority is the welfare and loving care of the animals.  

Daily Duties: feeding, cleaning, doctoring, grooming/clipping, hoof care, worming, vaccinating, keeping track of hay, feed and supplies, reordering, maintaining health records, scheduling and assisting with farrier and vet appointments.   

Beneficial skills: vet tech or vet assistant, accounting, carpentry, mechanic skills and welding.  

On-site modular home with 2 bd and 2 bath on approximately 8 fenced acres with small barn. Medical insurance is provided.  On-the-job vehicle provided, must have clean driving record.  One week paid vacation after one year. Salary DOE, non-smoker, no drugs, no physical limitations, must be able to lift 75 lbs.
