FEATURED JOB OPENING: Couple/Single Wilderness Homestead Help - Eagle, AK

Couple or single looking for a remote, wilderness experience and sharing the chores of a homestead with dog kennel along the Yukon River near Eagle, Alaska.  Ideal for a retired couple or someone that can work remote over the internet.  Moose, caribou, wolves, eagles and many other animals and birds live here.  Travel to and from the site by boat, snowmobile or dog team.  Normally responsibilities would be 1 ½ to 3 hours per day… in the dog kennel, helping with wood cutting, splitting, hauling, help with any heavy work and trail work along with other various chores as needed.  Most of the day would be free to do as you wish.  There is future potential for summer income from summer river trips.  Winter offers you learning survival skills, running a dog team and potential income from helping with dog sled tours.

No experience is needed as we would teach you everything you need to know but you need to be physically fit and like lots of solitude as the wilderness abounds with it.

This is a year round position but can be shorter.  The hope is for a long term commitment but a shorter one is fine as long as it is decided well in advance.  Start timing can be as early as mid-June to August.

Along with the potential for income through tours there would be a weekly stipend for food and supplies.  Room and board in a private cabin.  Some food and supplies provided.  Limited Wifi access if needed.

Private housing will be a short distance from the main cabin and dog yard.  The cabin has a wood stove for heat, small kitchen area with sink and propane stove.  These are dry cabins, as is usual in the wilderness and many areas of Alaska.  Our creek water is fresh and wonderful but a filter system is available if wanted.  Meals can often be shared but your cabin will be set up for cooking.  The cabin has its own outhouse.  There is a sauna on the property and laundry can be done in Eagle when trips are made there for supplies and/or mail.
