Our clients are seeking a Domestic Couple (must be a team who have worked together for at least 3 years at other positions) for a high-profile public family. They will be privy to many personal and private matters and will be expected to handle all matters with extreme confidentiality and discretion. Critical areas of focus include property management, coordinating with human resources, construction management, cooking, animal care, guest care, and concierge services, in addition to other duties not highlighted. We are looking for strong people leaders who are problem solvers and embody an entrepreneurial spirit. The team should be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment and should possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience with managing all aspects of an estate is a priority. The roles provide household support to the Individuals and their family/guests. Experience with managing all aspects of the household/home life is a priority. The residence is located in Westchester in the North Salem area of New York state.
Executive Housekeeping and Estate Management
Ensure that above all, duties are maintained in the best interests of the Principals’ requirements
Groundsman responsibilities, along with knowledge of a seasonal garden, to include home grown produce
Care of family pets and yard/farm animals (TBD)
Houseman/Butler duties, to include Interior maintenance and DIY
Supervising & liaising with contractors and external tradesman. Maintaining the family home and outbuildings
Daily driving duties, both locally and out of state. Upkeep of all vehicles, golf cart and bikes
Running Errands
Regularly liaise with Executive Assistant regarding all matters of the estate and couriers, deliveries, appointments during the day and functions and events taking place at the residence
Oversee the family’s active properties and any construction projects
Serve as the single point of contact between the Family and all other services
Review and prioritize Principals’ requests to ensure a timely completion
Partner with the Family Office on developing annual budgets for each property and be in charge of the household budget and reimbursements/expenses
Develop a vendor policy and provide guidance to for sourcing and managing 3rd party vendors
Create master vendor listing, maintenance calendar and process manual for each property
Performing other work-related duties as assigned
Supervising the daily housekeepers. A knowledge of laundry, ironing, and fabric care is essential
Training other household staff members
Cooking for the family (this will be discussed)
Supervise or assist in supervising house-functions such as events and dinners and manage those functions by overseeing all requirements including wait-staff and chef, rental equipment, entertainment, menus and dietary requirements, guest lists, event space and decoration.
Greeting and caring for guests and visitors
Taking responsibility for the household inventory. Also ensuring that supplies are always replenished
Arrange all aspects of moving house if the principals are moving
Make travel and holiday arrangements
Packing of luggage
Maintain records where needed
Performing other work-related duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 5 years of experience as a Domestic Couple (Estate Manager/Executive Housekeeper-House Manager team) for private families and/or individuals
Highest level of personal service experience with private families and/or individuals
Handle all matters with extreme confidentiality and discretion. Keep private information super private
Highly organized and resourceful
Efficient, natural problem solver, multi-tasker, high level of focus on details
Dependable, honest, and discreet
Experience developing basic organizational and communication systems / processes to bring structure and operationalize functions
Takes ownership and pride in ensuring that the individual is well taken care in all aspects of their lives
Welcomes direction and feedback
Can work through any situation; utilizing all resources possible on their own prior to involving the principle
Strong ability to connect all the dots and focus on larger picture, as to make smarter decisions
Forward thinker that is excellent with anticipating needs
Must possess the ability to work well independently and without supervision
Effective and professional written and communication skills
Ability to work on tight deadlines while producing high-quality work
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Start date: As soon as possible
Working week: Typically M-F, with long days – Flexibility of working weekends when needed
