Live-In Caregiver Couple - Export, PA

OVERVIEW:

We are currently looking for a couple to live with my Parents.  One person would help take care of needs inside the house the other would help take care of things outside.  We are looking for individuals who are efficient and comfortable being on call 24/7. The ability to multi-task, while maintaining a calm, polite, friendly manner, is essential in this position. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful, a good problem solver and organized. If you’re a compassionate, positive person who isn’t afraid to work hard, then this is a job for you. We expect you to be polite and a good communicator. Experience in housekeeping tasks and caring for the elderly or sick will make you a strong candidate.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES FOR JOB INSIDE OF HOUSE

• Clean – entire house to maintain a clean environment
• Cook – 3 meals a day for my Mother and Father according to the customer’s restrictions
• Help take care of my Mother who has Alzheimer’s, including:
  • Help her dress
  • Help her bathe
  • Keep her company and insure she doesn’t leave the premises
  • Make sure medicines are being taken on time and accordingly
  • Inform physicians or supervisors about uncommon events
• Help sort the mail
• Wash dishes, put them away
• Laundry
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES FOR JOB OUTSIDE OF HOUSE

• Clear paths of snow
• Help take care of farm, including:
  • Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures
  • Feed the animals, help keep them healthy
  • Mows lawns, trims weeds/bushes, and rakes leaves as assigned
• Get the mail
• Drive Mother or Father to appointments
• Get groceries 
• Picks up and removes trash to a designated area
• Empties trash and recycling containers
• Prepares soil and plants flowers, bushes, hedges, or shrubs
• Reports needed repair work to proper authorities
• May be required to perform miscellaneous maintenance work such as touch up painting
• Operate a variety of district vehicles and equipment
• Assure security of buildings and grounds
• Moves and/or re-arranges furniture, chairs, desks, tables, etc
• Perform other duties as assigned
