Job Summary
House Parents report to the Residential Program Manager, the Houseparent is responsible for direct care and supervision of residents of NMCCH Residential Homes. The Houseparent ensures residents’ basic needs (food, shelter, clothing) are met on a daily basis while also coordinating other services and resources such as education, healthcare, mental/emotional support, recreation, spiritual life guidance and transportation. The Houseparent assists in the creation and implementation of each resident’s individualized Plan of Service and works with others to facilitate resident progress in their assigned goals. Essential to this position is that the Houseparent models Christian family-living and presents Christianity with a positive, inviting, encouraging, and non-judgmental attitude.
Required
House Parents are hired as married couples
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 21 years of age and married for at least two years
Community minded
A valid driver’s license with good driving record
Ability and desire to live with and serve the needs of youth
Good interpersonal skills and strong ability to work with others
Commitment to confidentiality
Professional presentation and attitude with coworkers, clients, vendors and general public
Desired
3+ years of work experience with children
Additional Requirements as required under CYFD licensing
Proof of academic records
Successful completion of a national criminal records background check (to include fingerprinting)
Vaccinated for COVID 19
