Providence Pass provides a warm and supportive environment that includes therapeutic support for teenage girls ages 13 to 17.

The residence, “The Ranch”, is set on 20 acres in Saint Cloud Florida, about 20 minutes from Walt Disney World. The ranch offers animal assisted therapy including equine, goats, pigs and chickens. The home consists of 8,ooo square foot living space with 7 separate sleeping quarters for the girls.

Each day, the girls commute to our state-of-the-art therapy and education center, located in Celebration Florida, where they participate in therapy, groups and educational teachings.

Girls who come to Providence Pass have typically experienced trauma, abuse, an adoption, divorce, loss of a parent or other relational loss in her life. This trauma has caused her life to spin out of control in her adolescent years. The disorders we work with include mood disorders, mild eating disorders, attachment difficulties, depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and mild substance abuse.

Girls come to our Florida-based program from throughout America.

Job summary:

Providence Pass is seeking to fill the support house parent role who work with the Lead House parents. This position requires house parents with a minimum of 3 to 5 years industry experience. The role consists of caring for the teenage girls in holistic and home like stetting, providing daily oversight and support for the girls in reaching their goals during treatment.

The candidates must be solution-focused, be able to work with a team, and have excellent leadership skills. Lead house parents will work alongside an assistant house parent, and will be responsible for their post holder duties.

Shift rotation :

WEEK 1 AND 2 OF THE SHIFT PATTERN

The shift rotation will be 2 Days on shift followed by 2 Days Off followed by 3 days on rotating with the second support team member for week 1 & 2 of the shift pattern. The hours are 4pm to 10pm M-F and S-S 8am to 10pm 

WEEK 3 AND 4 OF THE SHIFT PATTERN

Week 3 ( Relief Shift ) - Will be a 7 day Straight shift starting 6:00am Monday to Monday. Both supports will be on shift together and are required to sleep overnight at Ranch. This is the relief shift for the Lead House Parents. 

Week 4 - The shift rotation will be 2 Days on, followed by 2 Days Off, followed by 3 days on, rotating with the second support team member for week 4 of the shift pattern. The hours are 4pm to 10pm M-F and S-S 8am to 10pm   

On call rotation for the 2,2,3 work shift

Responsibilities:

• Required to sleep on-site for Relief shift and provide direct care for 20-24 teenage girls in one home, creating a safe and loving family environment
• Must be willing to work without fear of Covid. Must be willing to work with Covid protocols and provide care to residents in the event of positive detection.
• Model a healthy family atmosphere
• Provide emotional support to encourage emotional development
• Develop and maintain a working and supportive relationship with the client's family through routine updates and communication
• Become familiar with the individuals needs and program goals
• Use critical thinking skills, assist with behavioral problems, provide support through personal issues and provide crisis intervention, de-escalate situations, mediate peer conflict, as needed
• Budget and Plan, participate group activities and outings that are both educational and entertaining
• Prepare written records for household budgeting, tracking youth progress, reporting incidents/behaviors and document youth medical needs and appointments
• Manage the daily operating schedule of the home; assist with transportation needs, and overall household upkeep
• Teach residents basic skills such as room organization, cleaning, work-ethic, punctuality, manners, cooking, laundry and clothing care, time management, communication skills, relationship building, conflict resolution, etc.
• Assist with educational or medical appointments as needed
• Provide care for residents with minor illnesses or injuries
• Attend church activities with the residents
• Communicate concerns to Directors, Educators, Therapists as needed.
• Maintain electronic reports through I-Grade daily when on duty
• Coach residents in life skills, including self-care, hygiene, cleanliness, organization, communication, problem solving, etc.
• Enforce program norms and expectations, and hold clients accountable when expectations are not met, or norms are violated.
• Utilize communication skills designed to both hear and speak in ways that provide effective interactions with peers, staff, family members, visitors, etc.
• Willingness to protect client confidentiality
• Willingness to attend training and utilize training skills in working with residents
• Participate in formal resident assessments, and provide accurate and helpful information to the staff and family members about the resident's activities and interactions with others
• Provide hospitality to campus visitors as assigned
• Provide care and protection for assigned equipment
• Other duties as assigned
• Serving meals on weekends according to the menu prepared by the Providence Pass Chef

• Need to be mature and compassionate couples who have a heart for troubled youth.
• Provide direct supervision and care of children to meet to meet their physical, spiritual, emotional, educational, and social needs.
• Work closely with lead House Parents and follow direction
• Work closely with a treatment team to establish and help fulfill treatment goals. Attend treatment team meetings when necessary
• Work with clients who may present with special needs.
• Must be at least 25 years old and have at least a high school diploma or its equivalent, with prior house parenting experience required.
• Have a valid driver's license and good driving record. Must be insurable. Must be in good physical, medical, and mental health
• Must be able to pass a background check per Florida minimum state and federal standards (to include fingerprinting), a drug screen, and child maltreatment background check.
• Ability to maintain daily schedule and effective time management skills

• Ability to work with teen girls whose behaviors can reflect that of trauma related experiences
• Must have strong communication skills including accurate and detailed writing abilities for daily notes
• Ability to work effectively with co-workers and dept team members
• Ability to work solely, as needed, and under pressure when unforeseen circumstances arise
• Ability to set appropriate limits and boundaries
• Ability to properly handle conflict that may arise
• Ability to appropriately handle confidential issues
• Must have the energy and flexibility to meet the changing needs of day-to-day operations

• Ability to handle emergencies and follow appropriate protocols
• Ability to build trusting relationships with clients and effectively engage clients from diverse cultures
• Must have sensitivity to the service population
