Our Motel is searching for a special two person team to hire as Live-In Managers. An individual may also be considered. This is a live-in position, with a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house attached to the office provided for the live-in manager(s).
Live-in Manager’s daily duties involve guest relations, checking in and out guests, leading and assisting staff, housekeeping when necessary, general maintenance of building and grounds, and snow removal. Live-in manager will be working weekends and holidays. The busy season runs from May through October and the slow season is November through April.
The owners live in Chama and will still be as involved as needed in the operations of the motel. They are available for help one day a week to give the innkeeper a day away from the motel. The owners will be available in case of emergency or unexpected situations.
Compensation includes a salary DOE, on site housing, all utilities paid, and paid vacation. Five days during busy season and fourteen days during off season.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as resident onsite manager of guest relationships and experiences including but not limited to check-in/check-out, special requests, advanced inspection of guest accommodations and common areas
- Respond to phone calls, texts, and emails from guests and potential guests during hours of operation and guest needs off hours/overnight
- Maintain safe, clean and attractive grounds
- Work with the owners to develop goals and initiatives aimed at increasing revenue and recognition
- Maintain active maintenance and repairs throughout the year
- Use off-season to address major maintenance, cleaning and repairs to keep the motel fresh and accommodating
- Interview, hire, train, and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to facility's policies and procedures. Terminate staff when necessary
- Requires ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs, as well as the physical exertion needed to perform housekeeping
- Purchase supplies, and arrange for outside services, such as deliveries, laundry, maintenance and repair, and trash collection
- Provide assistance to staff members and inspecting rooms
- Perform marketing and public relations activities

- Integrity beyond reproach
- Superior people and problem-solving skills. Excellent and clear communication skills are a must.
- Computer skills. Microsoft Office, and reservation software.
- Strong work ethic
- Well-groomed and impeccable attention to detail
- Ideal applicant will have the ability to perform light repairs and maintenance
- Social media knowledge
