Railroad Park Resort is seeking a friendly, positive, energetic, entrepreneurial, hospitality minded couple to join our Leadership Team in the area of Guest Services. This is a live-in position with a 1 bedroom apartment onsite included as part of the compensation. The Guest Services Supervising couple will partner with the owners and leadership team to help manage day to day operations of the resort.
As a member of the leadership team you will work side by side and hand over hand to collaborate, coordinate and implement new, ongoing and current projects. The leadership team is responsible for not only making accommodations and programs a 5 star experience for guests, but also empowering our already dynamic staff by recognizing strengths and contributions through education, motivation, and encouragement which backs our philosophy that we “Lead people and Manage things.” Rather than the contrary.
Railroad Park Resort consists of 23 caboose lodging rooms, 4 cabins, full service restaurant serving breakfast and dinner, 45 space RV/Tent campground, game room, camp store, pool, ponds, river and other amenities on 48 acres. During the busy summer season, Railroad Park Resort employs approximately 40 employees and about 25 in the winter months.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- 30-40 hour work week with “on-call” duties as required
- This is a Working Supervisor position, taking some shifts at the front desk and filling in as needed.
- Supervising front desk staff, reservations and operations
- Organizing Group Reservations
- Solving guest related issues as they come up emphasizing excellent customer service
- Supervising Gift Shop sales
- Supervising housekeeping and laundry operations and staff
- Some maintenance and grounds keeping duties
- Other duties as assigned and as talents and abilities dictate
The resort is 50 years old but the new owners have been here for the past 4 years. We are a Trip Advisor “Certificate of Excellence” property with plenty of room for improvement. We are in the midst of upgrading and improving the resort with the goal of making it the best railroad themed resort in the world. There is a lot to do and we are seeking a couple who wishes to be a part of our leadership team to help this process.
Compensation includes an hourly wage, housing, paid vacation and potential for bonus’s based on earnings.
The ideal candidates will be willing to commit for at least 3 years, have supervising experience, have excellent communication skills, exceptional customer service, computer skills, common sense and a desire to be part of something great!
