Chugach National Forest Alaska campground hosts needed for the summer of 2021
Mid May thru September
Various campgrounds available along the Alaska Kenai Pennisula, must have own RV (no tents), letter of employment for border crossing, campsite provided and pay varies depending on the campground $1800-$400 per month
Our fantastic Campground Hosts work in the campground assisting with the reservation system, selling camping permits and providing customer service to our visitors. You also serve as eyes and ears for USFS personnel in their assigned campground. The satisfaction of helping both the National Forest and its visitors is the Campground Host’s greatest reward. There is no substitute for the personal touch that makes a camper feel welcome and, “at home.”
Campground Hosts meet visitors from all walks of life, and often, fellow campers become lasting friends. Many Campground Hosts and campers return to the same campground year after year, sharing stories of new grandchildren, winter activities, and old memories
Duties vary, but can be a combination of the following:
· Live at the campground from mid-May through September
· Ability to work well with, and report to, company management
· Offer information and explain regulations, such as fee system and campground rules
· Verify campers have purchased their site and filled out the proper fee envelope
· Educate campers about campground rules and the protection of natural resources
· Communicate potential or actual problems to USFS personnel.
· Maintain and clean campsites, restrooms and day use areas daily
· Must provide own living quarters, in a hard-sided vehicle such as a trailer or RV
· Willingness to help with light maintenance
· Answer visitor questions and provide them with excellent customer service
· Assist with the campground reservation system
· Distribute and collect camper comment cards or surveys
· Participate in interpretive programs and maintaining message centers and bulletin boards
