Job Description
We are currently recruiting Christian married couples/families to provide a home environment for 6-10 boys as live-in house parents, (actually called “cottage-parents”). We are currently have available permanent positions for relief cottage parents. These positions provide a competitive salary, a generous on-off schedule, a private attached apartment, as well as a secondary staff home to use during time off periods. Benefits also include health insurance earned vacation time and other incidental benefits.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide a stable Christian home environment for 6-10 boys as live-in house parents, (actually called “cottage-parents”). Regular day-to-day activities including providing a good breakfast, transporting them to and from the local schools in 15 passenger vans. Taking them to Dr./Dentist appointments etc. After school needs include helping with homework, supervising and assisting with after-school chores such as cleaning, (some boys will work with the ranch animals, and some with the vehicle program) mowing, weed-eating, and spraying. Supervising and assisting with evening activities such as bike-riding, skate-boarding, basketball, fishing, swimming, etc. The evening meal is served in the dining hall, and the entire ranch eats together as a family every evening Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
Applicants for cottage and relief cottage parents must be U.S. Citizens with a valid drivers license, a Christian married couple (man/woman married at least 3 years) with a strong faith and marriage, who possess a love for living with, and raising children and adolescents. Cottage parents have to be joyful and encouraging, but also firm in discipline, while providing an environment that makes the child feel loved and part of an active Christian family.
Couples with existing families of up to, but not exceeding four children are welcome and encouraged to apply.
Previous child-care experience and/or college degrees are beneficial, but not mandatory.
