POSITION TITLE:
General Manager Couple
POSITION SUMMARY:
A rural Missouri private club is seeking an experienced individual or couple to manage the operations of the club. The operations of the club include a full-service kitchen and dining room seating up to one hundred, housekeeping services for nineteen cottages, approximately seventeen hundred acres of grounds, including several miles of trails as well as docks along the Gasconade River outside of Rolla, Missouri.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The General Manager reports to the Board of Directors of the club. The family orientated club consists of individually owned cottages, a central dining lodge, pool, tennis courts, shooting range (skeet and sporting clays), boat docks, common ground and seventeen hundred acres of woods. The candidates will oversee a mixture of full time and seasonal staff. The staff will provide support in the kitchen, housekeeping and ground maintenance operations of the club. The successful candidates will oversee contribute to all operations of the club including the following: Front Office, Dining, Housekeeping, Kitchen Manager, Grounds Maintenance, Security and Member Services. There are nineteen members in the club.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The GM candidates will have the following skills:
* Organizational Skills
* Office Management
* Budget Management (must work closely with third party accountant)
* General PC Skills (Word and Excel)
* Basic Mechanical, Carpentry, Electrical and Plumbing Skills
* Meal Preparation Coordination for Large Groups on Holiday Weekends (supporting Kitchen Manager)
* Management Skills
* Communication and Interpersonal Skills are key
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND SPECIAL SKILLS:
* Demonstrated experience working in ranch management, facility management, or similar setting (resort or large club operation a big plus) with strong sense of hospitality management.
* Capable of working closely with the kitchen manager and filling in during any absence
* Comfortable and committed to working all major holidays except for Christmas.
* Enjoy the outdoors and family oriented environment.
* Ability to operate farm equipment, including backhoe, tractor and mowing equipment.
EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT:
An Undergraduate degree is preferred, but similar job experience will override this preference.
COMPENSATION:
An attractive salary, housing (including utilities and cable T.V.), meals, and auto are all included. The successful candidate will have their own house to live in on the grounds: furniture is not included. Access to hunting, fishing and other club amenities is also available.
