Center Island is a small island in San Juan County, WA located inside Lopez Pass in the protected waters of Reads Bay. The island is reached by private ferry, boat, or plane. There are no commercial services on Center Island. The island contains a plat of 175 lots that are used as camping lots or which contain vacation homes. The community manages an airstrip, docks, a water system, roadways, vehicles, a community clubhouse, a maintenance shop, and a private caretaker residence.

Center Island seeks seasonal caretakers to assist other employees and to maintain a security presence, maintain and manage the use of clubhouse and dock facilities, and to help mow the airfield and lawns.   

The position is currently open to fill an early spring thru early fall 2020 need. The compensation package includes a two-bedroom waterfront house, utilities, a negotiable monthly salary (DOE and assigned duty hours), and a transportation allowance.
