Caretaker Couple position available - Bass Lake, CA

Year around position available for an experienced caretaker

couple. No singles, since the job requires covering

housekeeping and maintenance responsibilities.

We own/manage two properties with a total of five cabins

we rent out seasonal to guests visiting the Yosemite Area in

California.

Our twenty acre FarMeadow property is very remote in the

High Sierras, fourteen miles above Bass Lake within the National

Park. We open this property for guests beginning of June (depending

on snow and access).

This is the time when we expect our caretaker couple to

‘move in’ , get the property and cabins (three) ready for the first guests.

The season at Far Meadow runs into mid October, again depending on

weather/snow conditions. At this point we close FarMeadow.

It is optional if the caretaker couple wants to stay only for the summer month

6/1/28 - 10/15/18 or is looking for a year around position.

In that case the caretaker couple moves down into our Basecamp property in

Oakhurst. The ‘Basecamp’ property has two cabins and we rent those

all year long.The caretaker couple will then stay at the Basecamp from

November until end of next May and maintain this property during

those month.

Basically , the time from when we open FarMeadow until we

close in October is the most busy time for the caretaker,

once back at the Basecamp there is much less work and we offer that the

caretaker can take his vacation during that time, if wanted.

On both properties we offer housing in two small cabins (tiny

but cozy). We also provide a pickup truck for transportation and

to go into town for supply. Salary tis $2,500 for a couple.

Job Duties:

- Meet and greet guests. Communicate via internet with

guests before arrival.

- Property maintenance including cutting firewood, wood

chipping, light plumbing repairs, light electrical repairs (solar system) ,

maintain water supply system (well) , maintain satellite internet.

- Trash collection and removal Restock cabin supply and cleaning supply.

- House cleaning and house keeping.

- Keep track of expenses via spreadsheet.

It is mandatory that we meet the candidates in person for an

interview either in Los Angeles or Oakhurst.
