WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Youth camp in search of couple for 2018 season beginning May15 and ending approximately September 30. We are located in the Malheur National Forest and are off-grid. Beautiful high valley setting surrounded by the Strawberry Mountains. We have 10 guests cabins that sleep 10, a large and a small bath house, a beautiful lodge, and commercial kitchen. We are known for our outstanding hospitality and wonderful food. You would be a part of a team consisting of yourselves, 2 cooks, and the managers. We work together as a team together with local volunteers when we have fast turn-arounds between camps and large camps. Our camp is a 501c3 organization run by a board of directors. We are host to many different types of camps such as family reunions, weddings, fire training, 4-H, FFA, outdoor schools, and others. You will work hard but there will be "down-times" as well that wll afford you an opportunity to enjoy hiking, ATVing (if you have one), or just relaxing. When camps are present the day can be 12 hours long.
Your wage as a couple would be $3000/mo plus room and board. Private cabin avalable, however, we would prefer a couple with their own RV.
Requirements would be the ability to pass a background check and obtaining an Oregon Food Handlers Certificate.
Groundskeeper/Caretaker responsibilites include mowing, maintaining watering rotation, edging, maintenance needs. Maintaining camp vehicle, changing oil in the truck or generator. Garbage collection. Assisting in keeping the large bathhouse clean and supplied. Possibly picking up food order or supplies in town (about 35 mils one way). Maintaining floors in lodge and bathhouses. Helping in the kitchen with dishes, pots and pans, at meal time and helping on buffet line at meal time.
Housekeeper responsibilities include cleaning cabins or directing the volunteers to assist in cleaning the cabins between camps, maintaining lodge and dining area in a clean, inviting way. Laundry of sheets and kitchen towels and rags. Maintaining women's bathrooms during camps, helping to clean women's bathroom between camps, cleaning staff bathroom. Depending on need, possibly helping in the kitchen and/or serving. Wiping down tables after dinner and sweeping dining area.
We are very interested in finding a couple who would like to return each year to be a part of our team.
