Beautiful small estate property fifty five miles north of
NY City Sixty year old Couple with two Dogs and one Cat
desires an established couple to live in the small
cottage overlooking the Hudson River. We have an apt. in
NY City and travel frequently. Duties include year round
property and yard maintenance, frequent animal care and
general housekeeping for large five bedroom home.
Other light handyman projects as needed. Additional staff
available as needed. Must be available for frequent animal
care -- otherwise very flexible schedule. Salary plus
cottage and all utilities.
Our animals are our family. Their care is the top priority of
the candidates we hire for this position. Their care involves
walking the dogs as needed, vet and grooming appointments
and care and feeding while we are away. In addition to
animal care, the job requires a minimum of thirty five hours
per
week for basic maintenance chores (grass, leaves and snow
removal plus regular housekeeping) in exchange for the
cottage and all utilities and basic salary of twenty five
hundred per month.
Other work will be paid for at twenty dollars per hour, up to
one thousand dollars per
month for work in excess of thirty five hours per week on an
as
needed basis.
Necessary skills include knowledge of general
housekeeping, landscaping, minor carpentry, general
maintenance and house systems. Winters are often snowy
and icy, and you must be comfortable in this environment
and willing to deal with the tasks these weather conditions
require. You will have plenty of time to enjoy all the activities
this beautiful area provides. It is truly a four season paradise
for sports, the arts and history buffs.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for people who have had experience as live-
in caretakers and have relevant references. The grounds
need to be well maintained and the house kept in good
order.
Candidates should have some financial security such as
pensions and/or social security. They must be in good
health, energetic and be meticulous in maintaining the house
and property. Enthusiastic gardeners are particularly
welcome, as there is plenty of room to enhance the
grounds. We would hope to make a long-term commitment
to people who would be taking pride in keeping up a
beautiful place to live.
