Property keeping
- Responsible for the daily cleaning and maintaining the general appearance of the whole residence (main house, coach house, pool house and greenhouse).
- Landscape upkeep, tree pruning/trimming, grass mowing.
- Managing all aspects of the whole residence’s operation and activity calendar.
- Care of fine furnishings, finishes and delicate surfaces including care of arts, antiques, silver and delicate items.
- Washing, ironing, steaming and linen care, including washing delicate fabrics.
- Making beds and ironing sheets.
- Closet organization, always maintaining personal effects properly.
- Packing, unpacking and transport of suitcases.
- Organizing household inventories
Cooking
- Creating fresh and seasonal meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for the household members and guests.
- Creating elaborate dinners for events held at the residence.
- Following special menus or requests.
- Organizing and managing kitchen inventories.
- Performing grocery shopping.
- Cleaning and keeping the cleanliness standards of the kitchen.
Management duties
- Day to day running of the property to maintain standards and efficiency.
- Perform formal table setting and table service.
- Assistance in the organization and service during private and social events.
- Answering the doorbell, greeting of guests and visitors as well as answering the phone.
- Identifying maintenance and repair projects.
- Scheduling and supervision of household installations, trades and vendors for interior & exterior and seasonal projects.
- Managing and monitoring household inventories.
- Overall vehicle management.
Applicant Qualities:
- Good English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Must have previous experience working in a private semi-formal style residence.
- Applicants must be service oriented and self-starters.
- Excellent housekeeping & laundry skills for care and treatment of fine furnishings and finishes a must.
- Knowledgeable with practical handy man experience and management of trades & vendors.
- Applicants should be energetic with a strong work ethic, strong communication skills and ability to anticipate needs of principals.
- Applicants should have a neat and polished appearance, uniform if required provided by employer.
- Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- One person must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Work days: Tuesday to Saturday (flexibility required).
- Work hours: Split shift (flexibility required).
Salary & benefits dependent on experience and previous employment.
