Ranch Couple - Columbus , TX

Couple team to manage a family ranch for absentee owners.

Position is for a ranch manager and a hospitality and housekeeping/cleaning of a family ranch in Colorado County, Tex.

The ranch is primarily a family recreational and deer and buffalo breeding ranch.

15 weekends out of the year special events are hosted at the ranch also.

The owners live in Houston and visit the ranch several times a month.

The owners are seeking a responsible, stable, friendly and hard working married couple to help manage the operations year round.

This is a long term position for a couple that can take responsibility for the well being of the animals and the property.

This is mainly outdoor work requiring physical strength and stamina; must be physically fit tomeet the daily demands of the job.

The ranch manager position requires the ability and vitality to work outside in summer Texas weather as well as rainy or cold conditions.

Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs.

Must have a valid driver’s license

Experience pulling trailers and driving and maintaining tractors and similar equipment.

Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for feed and care for animals
Maintaining and repairing all ranch buildings and fences
General landscaping and mowing and planting food plots
Working and selling deer and buffalo
Leading animal capture and delivery
Regular upkeep of ranch
Responsible for lake maintenance
Managing sales leads on deer and exotics
Working with Business Operations through sales process
Manage vendor relationships for supplies

Operate, maintain, and repair farm equipment

Maintain operational and maintenance records

Wildlife management, including feeding, aging and surveys

Competency with “handy-man skills” – plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry

Water well knowledge and experience

Report to ranch owner on daily basis via email and faxed daily reports.

General computer skills – email, scan, fax

Completing weekly checklists in preparation for owner’s arrival
Must be organized and efficient with good communication skills (both verbal and written); computer literate and have good texting skills.

Five years’ experience with references is a must.
