WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?

Backcountry Idaho Outfitter and Guest Ranch that offers lodging, meals, jet boat trips, fishing, hunting, and a private airstrip is looking for a full time cook & grounds keeper. We prefer a couple that both want to work. Must love the backcountry and be okay with living remotely.  The lodge is accessible by jet boat or airplane only.  Transportation in & out of the ranch will be provided.

 

Both must have these qualifications:

1)   Self motivated & organized

2)   Must pay attention to detail and be very clean

3).  Honest and hardworking

4).  Easy going - team player attitude as there may be from one to seven co-workers on site at any time, working and living in close proximity

5).  Adaptable and flexible as situations arise due to the remote location such as: power shortage, temperature change, food not arriving on the mail plane etc.

6).  Non-smoker, NO drugs (random tests may be conducted), no pets or children

 

Cook Position:

Commercial kitchen is provided as well as limited continuous power.

- Must be able to cook and bake for large groups at times 25+

- Type of food is typically hearty, home cooked meals. Dinners will include appetizer, main course as well as dessert. 

- Must be able to prepare 5 different dinners, 3-5 lunches, and 5 breakfasts. These meals are created based on the season and types of groups staying at the ranch. You will work closely with the ranch manager to help preplan what meals will be cooked based upon inventory and quantities on hand.

- Would be great if you could bake desserts and breads as well. We require fresh baked cookies setting out for our guests and neighbors that stop by.

- Work with ranch manager on inventory, grocery list, meal planning and ordering to minimize food waste.  Meal planning will be for about two weeks out.  

- Lodge tidy up daily

- Need to be VERY CLEAN in both the kitchen and personal space.  This is a guest ranch and guests can see everything.

 

Grounds keeper Position:

- Mowing, weed eating, raking, trimming, spraying, irrigating, fertilizing,

- Feeding stock (horses and dogs) as well as keeping their kennels clean

- Garbage sorting, composting, burning

- Ranch project work such as staining, painting, fence repair etc as assigned by ranch manager

- Occasional helping with dishes during big group stays

 

Compensation includes: Salary ($1600/couple), private housing/bath, meals, 4 weeks on with 4-6 days out (including travel time), transportation in/out of ranch

Position Term:  Immediate to the end of November
