ON-SITE MANAGEMENT TEAM needed at medium-sized, independent coastal lodging facility. Position to begin March/April 2015.
JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
· Responsible for all front office duties including checking guests in and out, processing payments by cash or credit card, answering phones, making reservations and giving directions or information about local services and attractions
· Provide outstanding customer service, present yourselves in a professional manner; handle all duties with enthusiasm, a personable attitude and a welcoming smile.
· Prepare and maintaining the beverage station, keep the interior common areas clean and well-kept,
· Reconcile daily hotel records, prepare occupancy reports, bank deposits, track and order inventory and supplies.
· Prepare and submit reports as requested by the owners
· Frequent interaction with third parties (Expedia, Hotels.com), including resolving occupancy, cancellation issues, room inventory and descriptions, invoicing and monitoring and responding to guest reviews.
· Hire and dismiss employees and maintain scheduling, labor hours, and workflow.
· Oversee the housekeeping staff, perform room inspections, assist with deep cleaning, and provide backup help when there are staff shortages.
· Run errands including post office and bank, picking up supplies and other associated off-site tasks as necessary
· Represent the business at industry meetings (Travel Oregon, Chamber of Commerce), etc., regularly visit local festivals, shops and restaurants, network with other lodging and service providers in the area, be the “face” of the business and represent the property in a professional manner.
· Perform basic groundskeeping and building maintenance such as mowing, tending gardens, trash removal, completing minor plumbing, carpentry, caulking, painting and electrical work orders. .
· Ensure the safety of the property, employees, and guests, and ensure safety procedures are in place
· Generate maintenance work orders and coordinate repair/maintenance work in units
· Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE, Both persons must be able to do customer service, housekeeping, laundry, bed linen changes, and maintain interior and exterior of property. Between the two team members, the following requirements are necessary:
- A minimum of one year stable management history in Hotel/Motel/Restaurant Management
- Demonstrable skills in customer satisfaction
- Understanding of facilities management and maintenance
- Computer proficiency, including Windows, Outlook, Word and Excel
- Experience with online reservations and PMS systems
- A positive attitude and professional appearance at all times in the presence of guests.
- Ability and willingness to utilize social networking (facebook, twitter, e-mail) to market the property.
- Demonstrable writing skills including proper spelling, grammar and basic business communications.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, painting, and general commercial maintenance mandatory
- Ability and willingness to lift and carry over 50 lbs up and down stairs.
- Ability and willingness to climb a ladder and perform limited maintenance duties in all types of weather.
- Ability to pass a background check and/or drug test.
- Possession of a valid Oregon Drivers license, or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
Days and Hours: Managers are expected to be on-site and available 24 hours daily, with regular, scheduled relief periods provided. A portion of this time is on-call.
Compensation: Negotiable.
Benefits: Large one-bedroom apartment, unfurnished, all utilities paid, regularly scheduled time off, vacation.
