Cattle Ranch Manager(s) needed full time - Austin, TX

800 Acre cattle ranch near Bertram, TX (northwest of Austin) looking for a full-time ranch manager. 

Herd size is about 200 head of Black Angus cattle.  

Ranch manager duties include:

• Maintain herd health by observing cattle each day to catch potential health issues early for treatment
• Work with Vet and cattle herd consultant on immunizations and treatment protocols
• Keep death loss below 2 % per year
• Water and feed the cattle and horses
• Rotate cattle in designated groups between grazing fields as necessary
• Work with cattle herd consultant and cattle records consultant to maintain accurate herd records
• Run and maintain various pieces of heavy machinery; including John Deere tractors, round and square bailers, plows, renovators, cultivators, irrigation equipment, seed drill, rock picker, skid steer, and various attachments
• Light welding, carpentry, mechanical ability is helpful   
• Forage management for cattle feed
• Standard ranch maintenance; maintain quality fence lines, brush control and removal, yard and grounds maintenance
• Monitor security of all lands and assets.

 Two bedroom ranch home provided including utilities. Vehicles and various trailers for ranch use also provided.

 Young couple or family is preferred. Honesty and an excellent work ethic is a must. A complete background check will be made.
