Ranch Manager / Caretaker (or Team) - Glenn County, CA

We are looking for a hands on Manager/ Caretaker for our family recreational and hunting ranch in Glenn County, northern California

The Job: Duties include groundskeeping, water system management and tree irrigation, fence and road maintenance, equipment upkeep, building maintenance and projects, pond upkeep, pool care, light construction, painting, game management, wildlife crop farming on occasion, security, oversight of major projects, buying supplies, managing a budget and other general duties typical of the upkeep of this kind of property. You will need to clean and maintain the house after each use. Requires daily feeding and care of two horses (for now) and management of a seasonal cattle program (though this is not really a “cattle ranching” job).

Compensation: Use of 3BR/2BA nice house on adjacent land with barn, equipment shed pastures suitable for horses. You will have use of a work truck and other equipment for ranch duties. Salary negotiable based on experience.

You: Individual or husband / wife team with significant experience in similar situations working on or managing a rural property. Responsible children and your horses / dog are ok within reason. You have expertise in all aspects of ranch management and are able to advise owner. The owner does not live on site so you are a hard worker in unsupervised situations and must be able to complete projects and work independently. You have experience operating and maintaining major ranch systems and equipment, some mechanical skills with tools, landscaping, irrigation, general carpentry and construction, fencing and repair, live stock, and housekeeping. You can communicate frequently and clearly to absentee owner on projects and issues and can use a computer for email. Wildlife management and farming experience a plus. This is a physically demanding job.
