Managers for Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge, an Eco-Boutique Hotel high in the mountains of Costa Rica - San Gerardo de Dota - Costa Rica

Dantica is looking for a manager couple to run our eco-lodge high in the beautiful Costa Rican mountains for a period of one year or more, starting around half May - beginning of June 2014. We offer a salary for both persons, plus housing based on full-pension. Languages: English and Spanish required, German, French and/or Dutch a plus.

Managing our lodge includes receiving the guests and escort them to their Bungalows, serving in our restaurant Le Tapir, selling in our large art gallery, arranging and reserving tours, managing employees and taking care of our social media. The Lodge is situated high up in the mountains, this means a fresh to cold climate, and it is remote (an hour drive to the nearest village). Some Bungalows are in the forest (500 meters from the reception/restaurant), so a good physical condition is also required. High season is July - August (moderate) and December - April, the rest of the year is low season.

Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge is an eco-boutique hotel, which was built between 2003 and 2008. Our hotel provides the following facilities; sleeping, restaurant, gallery, trails, tours and relaxing, combining quality and comfort in order to allow our guests to experience and enjoy the cloud forest in its purest form.

The hotel is situated in the valley of San Gerardo de Dota. Inside the Los Santos Forest Reserve, on top of a hill with a breathtaking view and a private reserve that consists of 5 km of walking trails, Dantica is the closest hotel to the newly created Los Quetzales National Park. Nearby you can also find typical restaurants, trails, trout fishing, protected areas, National Parks and the Cerro de la Muerte, with its 3480 meters the second highest point in Costa Rica and with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean and the volcanoes.

The Lodge consists of 9 Bungalows with a modern interior design and decorated with typical aspects of the Latin American culture, distributed in 7 Superior bungalows, one Standard Bungalow and one Suite, especially designed so the guests can enjoy contact with nature. In November we will open a Master Suite, which is located in the same building as the managers’ apartment. The Bungalows have the following facilities: queen-sized beds with goose-feather duvets, Satellite television, ecological chimney working on ethanol, safe deposit box, mini bar with fridge, coffee maker with coffee and tea as a courtesy of the hotel, table with chairs and a private terrace. In the bathroom you will find a Jacuzzi, towels, biodegradable soaps and shampoos, and a hair dryer. All our hot water is solar heated.

The hotel distinguishes itself by its personalized attention, harmony with nature and respect for the environment. At our new restaurant Le Tapir one can enjoy a breakfast a la carte, as well as lunch or dinner with among others home-made pastas. All our dishes are prepared with fresh herbs from our organic herb garden. In the beautiful and large gallery you can buy art and handicrafts from Costa Rica and other Latin American countries.

We have WIFI high speed internet service in all our Bungalows, reception area, restaurant and manager apartment, and offer parking lots, playground for children, laundry service and tour packages with a certified bilingual guide.
