FEATURED JOB LISTING: Domestic Couple for Property Outside of Calgary - Calgary Area, AB

Domestic Couple, live-in, sought for Calgary-area property.  This position reports to an Estate Manager.  The couple will be responsible to participate with the general care and maintenance of the property interior and exterior care. The residence is located 20 minutes to the west of the city.  The position is full-time (Thursday to Monday) and live-in.  To manage the day to day activities of the residence and property: hands on housekeeping, laundry, care for the interior and exterior of the residence and property in order to maintain high standards and efficiency. Must be flexible with work schedules. Experience with handy man skills and general mechanical maintenance and garden care required.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality guest services in a professional, courteous and accommodating manner to all shareholders, staff, guests and outside service personnel;
• Care of fine furnishings and finishes with correct use products and methods;
• Seasonal deep clean and special projects to be completed;
• Full participation with housekeeping, including laundry of beddings, linens and or/ other articles in order to maintain residence ready for guest arrivals
• Supervise trades ,vendors, and contractors;
• Organize and manage household inventories, closets and storage areas;
• Daily cooking of meals for principal and guests; preparing menu plans and pantry lists;
• Planning and assisting with regular entertaining for private & social events;
• Weekly shopping, errands and grocery;
• Daily food & beverage services and table settings;
• Regular maintenance of gardens for fresh cuttings and floral arrangements;
• Vehicle management including cleaning and gas and occasional driving duties
• Valet Service including Wardrobe Management
• Assist with security responsibilities of the residence, including monitoring of electronic security systems and follow up of any alarms that may arise while on duty;
• Provide pet care; and
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• To meet the challenges of this role, the ideal couple must be energetic, able to work well in a team, and have excellent problem solving skills. Other requirements include:
• Be physically fit and able to reach and lift medium weight objects (e.g 30lbs to 50lbs);
• Contain a valid driver's license and provide own vehicle;
• Successful completion of a background check;
• Must exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times
• Previous experience with light machinery, carpentry and landscaping will be considered a strong asset.
• Must have a valid driver's license and own vehicle and be eligible to work in Canada;
• Encompass past experience in a private residence;
• Must be gracious, know how to conduct oneself and be familiar with private service etiquette.
• Knowledge of security systems and home technologies an asset
• Applicants must be service oriented and self -starters and have the ability to anticipate needs of the guest
• Good culinary skills with excellent food and beverage service skills for service and event planning;
• Ability to walk for 8 hours, climb stairs, bend, and perform repetitive motions;
• Possess a strong work ethic and a proven ability to work as a team.
• Must be adaptable, flexible, and function effectively in a team environment; and
• Possess great communication skills both verbally and written.
• Previous experience working in a rural style private property will be considered a strong asset
