Permanent opening for assistants to work all aspects of a small lodging property offering cabin rentals near Wolf Creek Ski Area. Central to all year round sports. We live in a gorgeous place in a small town at 8200' elevation. The location is outdoor sports oriented with snowmobiling, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, 4 wheeling, ATVing, golf, paddling and so much more.
If you are wondering what it would be like to own and run a small lodging property, this job will teach you! All aspects of lodge operations are included in job duties including, but not limited to, reservations, guest check in/check out, cleaning, laundry, front desk, errands, supply runs, minor repairs/maintenance, guest relations, lawn maintenance and any other tasks requiring attention. You will be back up and support for the innkeepers. The innkeepers are hard working and you'll find them to have a great attitude. Working and living here is like being a part of a family. It's a group effort with all staff working at any and all tasks that are required on site.
Requires minimum 20-30 hours commitment per week per person averaged out over a year's time. Hours in slower weeks may be 20 hours, busy weeks may require 40+ hours. We require flexibility in days/hours worked. Minimum hours provided will be as negotiated prior to hiring. Starting pay is $7.50 per hour. Minimum pay range per person per year will be $11,700 for 30 hours per week (per person) and most likely more hours will be required.
Housing provided is a small modest efficiency type cabin attached to laundry. It is quaint, rustic, tongue and groove walls and ceiling (high ceiling), lots of windows with kitchen facilities. Housing is provided in exchange for 5 hours work per person per week. Housing includes electric, gas, wifi, cable TV, use of laundry facilities, use of snowshoes in winter when not in use by guests.
Seeking people with a "can do" attitude and we are willing to train you. Need team players willing to work at anything needing attention from painting inside/out, lawns, sewing repairs, window cleaning, caulking, grouting, minor repairs, hot tub maintenance, carpet cleaning, housekeeping, laundry, front desk. If anything needs done, you must be willing to work at any task. Experience has taught us only happy flexible people fit in here and we cannot keep anyone with less than cheerful attitudes coming here to work and live. Non smokers only, no problem drinkers, no drug use ... NO exception.
Only those able to take direction and work independently will be considered. We require self starters to organize work needing done with the ability to carry out the work efficiently and quickly. The couple hired for this position is considered essential personnel and must be very responsible, guest service oriented and willing to go the extra mile if and when required. Actual hours worked vary according to guest needs. Although we will try to adhere to a schedule, we must remain flexible. Best example is if we agreed to a 40 hours week, one week could be 38 hours with the following week being 42 hours. We will strive to meet a schedule but experience has taught us there are variations from week to week. The general hours we work are 8am-9pm (hours of operation) although most work is accomplished between 10am-5pm. We work weekends and holidays. In peak season we may work more than 5 days a week. Sometimes there are guest tips.
