The International Student House, a non-profit organization in the heart of Washington, DC, provides an exceptional residential experience to a highly diverse international community of graduate students, interns, and visiting scholars. The House promotes inter-cultural dialogue, encourages life-long connections, and fosters global citizenship.
The Part-Time Staff Couple is a live-in shared position without benefits for an active retired couple wishing to supplement their income by performing assigned duties for the International Student House. Flexibility is required in assigned duties along with the ability to lift 30lbs, carry boxes and trays, and walk steps. The couple will adhere to all policies and procedures for the health, safety, and security of the International Student House staff and residents. They are responsible to assist in the day-to-day operations of the House, programs, and events. The Part Time Residential Staff Couple report directly to the Resident Managers. The couple position requires a 1 year commitment starting in August of 2011.
The shared duties will include:
- On duty two weekends a month
- On duty when Resident Managers are away from the House
- House and Resident event management when needed
- One member of the couple will work 4 days a week 5hrs a day on administrative duties
- Availability as needed with reasonable notice
Compensation:
- A stipend of $1,000 a month
- On site 1 bedroom 1 bath living quarters with kitchenette, basic cable, internet, and local phone service.
- One Parking Space
- 13 meals per week
- Two weeks vacation
