Salary is $1575 per month & includes RV space rent, telephone, water, sewer, garbage, & internet included, + up to three weeks paid vacation per year* If we fill this position with a couple, the salary may would be supplemented by an hourly part time position by one of the applicants.
(LONG TERM POSTION) This is a very unique job opportunity. This is a family owned small business and we are looking for someone(s) who will treat our business like their own and fit into our little world in the mountains.
LOCATION: A beautiful forested recreational campground in the Cascade Foothills 30 miles east of Salem. We have yurts, teepees, RV sites, tent sites, paintball, RC cars, gold panning, disc golf, nearby ATV trails waterfalls, and hiking trails. This is 25 minutes drive to the nearest real "store" and located at 2000'+ elevation. This could be a DREAM JOB for the right person(s) or a NIGHTMARE for the wrong person(s). Qualified applicants must be resourceful, independent, and enjoy working in all types of weather. Read the job description carefully so you don't waste your time and ours.
Position description -
You must provide your own RV to live in on site. If you do not have or cannot acquire a suitable RV to live in then you do not qualify for this position.* *32' or smaller please.
Do you have lots of energy? Want to get back to nature? Anyone is welcome to apply including both singles and couples willing to work together. The qualified applicant(s) will be a Jack(or Jill)-of-all-trades and be willing to live on site year round in a self contained RV or camping trailer. Water and 20 amps of electricity, and septic is provided to the site. If this sounds inconvenient and/or does not sound fun to you, then do not apply. You must have experience camping and living in an RV.
We experience long, cold, wet dark winters here in the cascade foothills and then followed by beautiful warm crazy busy summers. This position will require long days during the summer as this business makes 90% of its yearly income in 3 months time. Then during the winter we work outside in the cold and wet weather and spend a lot of time alone. Qualified applicants must enjoy both working alone for a lot of time in the winter and then during the "crazy busy" summer working long hours and getting very little alone time. The qualified applicant(s) will need to cheerful and friendly even when interrupted after a long day of dealing with people. Applicants must be energetic, well spoken, and professional. Qualified applicants will have a professional and clean appearance being well groomed and dressed appropriately for business. Qualified applicants must be able to deal with difficult people and must enjoy being around kids. Actual hours worked vary seasonally. The position requires that you must be on-call for guest services 5 days per week minimum. This means you will remain on site 24 hours a day during those days. Personal errands and time away would need to be scheduled mostly for the two days off per week. Occasionally this position includes middle of the night calls to take care of customer complaints or emergencies. Vacation days must be taken during the winter months. There is the possibility for growth in this position and additional income in the future for the right individual(s). This is a growing business. Applicant(s) must be willing to work outside in all sorts of weather because the campground operates year round and is located at 2000'+ elevation.
Duties include -
Working directly with the business owner(s)
Supervising / managing seasonal employees
Guest registration / customer service
Answering telephones
Firewood delivery
Clean toilets / showers
Empty garbage cans
Cleaning cabins / campsites
Cutting & splitting firewood
Facility maintenance
Qualified applicants should also have the following...
Basic computer skills;
A valid Oregon Drivers License;
Personal vehicle;
A clean driving record;
A background check required;
Pass a drug test; (and random tests thereafter)
Customer service experience;
Experience with maintenance & light construction;
Creativity and resourcefulness;
Self-discipline, ethics and integrity;
Communication and relationship building skills
