Yacht Crew - Honolulu, Hawaii

Aloha! We are seeking a couple to maintain and operate a 77’ private motoryacht based in Honolulu, HI. Responsibilities include keeping the vessel clean and operational at all times. The ideal candidate will have excellent mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills.

Competitive salary. Includes housing in a newly renovated 2-bedroom condo overlooking the boat, use of a car in Hawaii, and health benefits.

Exterior responsibilities:

About 10 hours per week for a single person and about 5 hours for two people working together.

• Daily check of lines, fenders, and general condition
• Weekly washdowns
• Polish and protect painted surfaces as needed. Budget available for additional help with this big task!

Cruising responsibilities:

• Support owner in creating cruise plans
  • 2-4x per month local day trips
  • 2-4x per year multi-week intra-Island Hawaii cruising
• Assess weather forecasts and participate in making go-no go decisions
• Dinghy sailing experience a plus!

Interior responsibilities:

• Maintain interior in clean, orderly condition

Engineering responsibilities:

• Complete routine maintenance such as oil changes.
• Replace or repair failed components, including pumps, inverters, electronics, etc.
• Maintain cleanliness in machinery spaces at all times
• Assist owner in planning and executing system upgrades

The ideal candidate has high standards, yet is easy going. They’re eager to learn new systems and processes, but also apply their own experience to problems aboard. Extremely knowledgeable and experienced owner with high-but-reasonable expectations and a willingness to help with boat projects and mentor crew. This vessel is run family-style; no pressed white uniform, but we expect you’ll treat the owners and guests with respect and eagerness to help. No smoking/light drinking acceptable.
