Goal of Position: To be leaders in providing outdoor recreation through the stewardship of Colorado’s natural resources for the enjoyment, education and inspiration of present and future generations. To have a positive experience as a volunteer while benefiting the park visitors and staff by providing assistance and information to guests, and reporting emergencies and incidents to the ranger staff
Maintenance: The Volunteer, under direction from Peter Geyer will perform maintenance duties as required. These will include weed control, tree and trail maintenance projects in designated areas of the park. The Volunteer may also assist with other maintenance and landscaping duties as assigned which may include, but are not limited to; painting fences and buildings, erecting new park signage, maintaining park tools and machinery, washing vehicles and cleaning restrooms.
Qualifications: Good customer service and people skills, general clerical skills, and general RV and camping knowledge. Park staff will provide training on specific duties and policies as needed.
Benefits: In exchange for a minimum of 24 hours of volunteer time per week, The Volunteer will receive a full hook-up campsite. After 48 hours of volunteer time, The Volunteer will receive a Colorado Parks and Wildlife Volunteer Parks Pass good for one year after issuance.
Campground: The Volunteer may be asked to assist the campground hosts as needed in the case of a host departure or unavailability
