WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Live and work in the beautiful Laramie River Valley in northern Colorado, home to trout-filled Laramie River, wilderness, and mountain wildlife.
We're looking for a couple with their own RV or camper to represent the Forest Service as volunteer co-hosts at the Stub Creek Ranger Station from mid-June through September. This site includes an information office, shop, bunkhouse, and rentable historic log ranger house.
Duties: Hosts provide drop-in visitors and cabin guests at this historic site with recreation information, sell maps, perform site caretaking, and clean the rental cabin, office, and one outhouse. Hosts work 8 hour days, with 4 days on and 3 days. This location is off the beaten path in a moderately isolated area.
Skills Needed: Must be personable, in good health, enjoy working at a low-visitation site, and able to perform basic grounds keeping and facility maintenance tasks.
Location: About 75 miles northwest of Fort Collins, Colorado, along Larimer County Road 190 near Glendevey. Site is nestled in a lodgepole pine forest at an elevation of 8,400 feet. Approximately 60 miles of paved and 17 miles of good gravel roads from Fort Collins. Please note- nearest Post Office is in Jelm, Wyoming, thus the MAP will show an incorrect site location.
Recreation: Nearby hiking, mountain biking, horse trails, fishing, boating, camping, backpacking, and 4-wheel drive motorized routes.
Host Utilities Provided:
- 50 Amp electric
- Water/sewer
- Phone land line for dial up computer (you will need a calling card for long distance calls)
