Glen Ayr Hood Canal Waterfront Resort is located on the Hood Canal just north of Hoodsport, WA. Guests can enjoy diving, boating, saltwater or freshwater fishing, clamming or picking oysters, or doing some beach-combing–it’s all available at your doorstep. You can golf at nearby courses or go hiking in Olympic National Park.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The Steward position is year-round contract position and shares duties with another camp steward on a rotating schedule. Duties include hands-on facility and grounds maintenance, housekeeping, office help and security.
Stewards must demonstrate the following personal attributes: honesty, trustworthy, respectful, flexibility, as well as, be able to work with others in a professional manner at all times, and have excellent communication skills.
WE OFFER:
Stewards will receive full hookup site (water, electric and sewer) as part of the agreement, including hourly compensation.
We require that you work 16 hours per week in return for a full-service hook-up. Any worked performed in addition to the 16 hours per week will be paid at a rate of $13.50.
Additionally, Stewards receive $432 per month to be on-call during the hours of 5 p.m. to 10 a.m. for 15 days per month (not included in the 16 hours per week).
We seek commitments of at least three months, and long-term opportunities are available. We are looking for outgoing and friendly individuals who can help bring the history of the area to life for our visitors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work in outside weather conditions, including; rain, cold and heat.
- Work at various heights and access any reasonable portion of the property.
- Stoop, stand and bend.
- Lift up to 50-75 lbs.
- Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, reach, grip and pull.
- Drive a light truck or vehicle to transport supplies and equipment, haul refuse and garbage and or miscellaneous hauling.
- Operate various machinery including; automobile, mower, edger and similar.
- Possible exposure to chemicals and/or elements present in cleaners, agents, pesticides or other hazardous chemicals.
- Flexible hours (week-ends, nights, holidays).
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The Steward may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of guests. The Steward may find the environment to be busy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
