Seeking innkeeper for small Sonoma County resort, Russian River - Guerneville, CA

This is a great opportunity for a customer-oriented, creative couple (or individual or family) to manage an established small business with significant growth potential and to develop and implement innovative business ideas to increase your compensation. A full-time manager/innkeeper is needed to run all day-to-day operations for a small vacation resort on two acres in downtown Guerneville. Responsibilities include making reservations, checking-in guests, responding to guests' needs, managing small part-time staff to clean cabins and do repairs, developing promotions and new revenue opportunities for property, overseeing maintenance and improvements, cleaning some cabins, doing laundry as needed, and reporting to owners on finances and property conditions. The resort includes a pool, hot tub, beach, and 12 housekeeping cabins, each with fully-equipped kitchens. The manager typically lives on the property. This resort business has significant seasonal fluctuations, which means that income and workload vary considerably from high season to low season. The manager would be responsible for managing resources and time to deal with these inherent seasonal fluctuations. Job Requirements: -Hospitality industry experience -Warm and friendly demeanor -Computer literacy -Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays -Creative business development and problem solving skills Desirable Skills: -Experience managing a small part-time staff -Familiarity with Quickbooks software -Familiarity with lodging reservation systems (e.g., Webervations, ResOvationsGT) -Pool management Begin as early as late-March.
