Security Guard - Mount Rushmore, SD

Are you enthusiastic about protecting employees that work at an iconic destination that draws more than 3 million tourists per year? Our employees proudly operate parking, retail and food and beverage facilities throughout the memorial. In being a key member of our security team overseeing the security of our team member dormitory, you will be solely responsible for the safety and security of our employees.
The Details
Position Type: Seasonal position starts immediately and extends until October 30th, 2023!
Wage: $14.55/hour
Housing: RVs must be self-contained - interior working kitchen and bathroom (toilet/shower). Must be in overall good condition and newer than 1980. There are NO kitchen or bathroom facilities at the RV park. Can support 30 and 50 amps.Limited RV sites are available in Keystone, SD for $70/week. Two employees desired for each RV.

• $300 travel stipend available for full-time employees starting between August 1st and September 15th! Employee must work a minimum of 60 days and an average of 40 hours/week to qualify. Will be paid on first paycheck.

Responsibilities:

• Security personnel patrol buildings and grounds to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions such as fires, theft and vandalism.
• Follow all policy, procedures and service standards.
• Patrol assigned buildings and grounds to observe and identify potential safety/security risks.
• Respond to all intrusion and fire alarms and assist in implementing emergency procedures.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide care within scope of training.
• Observe, report, and document any violations of policies, rules, regulations, and laws governing the location.
• Perform public safety and protective functions in a courteous and professional manner.
• Project a positive, customer service-oriented demeanor when interacting with employees/visitors.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Have basic computer skills that include familiarity with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Have or be able to obtain CPR, first aid, and AED certification through the American Heart Association (training available through Xanterra Parks & Resorts).
• Successfully pass a background check as well as a pre-employment drug test.
• Demonstrate maturity, a professional demeanor, good judgment, diplomacy, objectivity, and sound conflict/crisis intervention and problem-solving skills for managing employee or guest complaints.
• Be able to effectively perform duties in highly stressful or crisis situations and work under pressure without the loss of composure.
• Requires the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with a diverse population of employees and guests.
