This is an excellent job for a retired couple who enjoys gardening and rural living. The location is on the windy and wet side of Maui (on the Road to Hana) and offers unparalleled views, whale watching (in season) and gardening. A custom guesthouse is yours (for monthly rent of $1000) per month - which you may "work down" by receiving $15 per hour for gardening and care-taking tasks on a $3.5M Estate. The land is approximately 2.0Acres set against whales playing in the Pacific Ocean. It would be great if you had alternative income as Maui costs are higher than other areas and you will have to have a CAR, food, and pay Satellite, Internet, and Gas yourself. The owner pays Electric, Water, Trash, and Sewer charges. The guesthouse has a Jacuzzi, a washer/dryer, modern construction (3 years old) and a spacious deck overlooking the ocean. Note: IF WIND BOTHERS YOU, this is not the right job. The wind can be very powerful and noisy. Also it rains about 100 in. a year, so you can expect green pastures and lovely plants, along with rainbows a few times a week. All work is light gardening,cleaning, collection, security and some small misc. tasks like adding salt to the pool and light vacuuming. The contract period is for a renewable one year, its long term, not short term! You MUST provide current work related references (past clients) in order to be considered and we will check with these clients; so please supply phone and email addresses. There is really no age limit but we have found older couples PREFER the isolation (its 10 miles to the nearest store). Younger couples who work on the internet or at home will be considered.
