Resident Volunteer: Park Greeter and Roving Interpreter - Port St Lucie, FL
WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Discover, play and work in Port St Lucie, FL! Enjoy hiking, bicycling, kayaking, world class bass fishing in the park, and, of course, the Atlantic coast just 10 minutes away. Volunteer positions available for experienced work campers. Must work a minimum of 20 hours per week. The focus of this position is to greet visitors entering the park with a welcoming, knowledgeable smile. We do not have a traditional Ranger Station like many other Florida State Parks. Instead, our park operates on an honor system with pay stations at several of our entrances. Volunteers in the position of “Iron Ranger Assistant” are stationed at these iron rangers throughout the week to assist visitors in paying their admission fee and get visitors on their way by providing basic park information and directions. A minimum of 12 hours per week will be scheduled in this position. This position will spend a lot of time outdoors, potentially in the sun. Volunteers in this position should be comfortable speaking with members of the public. The remainder of volunteer hours in a week could involve several different tasks around the park including, but not limited to, invasive plant removal, gardening, roving interpretation, special event assistance, litter pick-up and more!
