Resident Innkeeper / Grounds / Maintenance couple for off-grid eco-resort in Hawaii

We are seeking a stable couple with innkeeping experience to reside onsite and help with all aspects of operating one of Hawaii’s top rated and unique properties. We have a 120 foot waterfall on site, and in addition to great hospitality, offer many additional experiences, and host a vibrant community of residents.

We view this as two roles, one of which is more hospitality focused, and the other of which is more grounds / maintenance focused.

Hospitality Focused Role:

• Reports to Hospitality Manager, compensation range: $13-16/hr, DOE
• Responsibilities Include:
• Turning over rooms in between guest stays, returning each room to the same pristine condition each time.
• Freshen guests' rooms while they are out and about.
• Help prepare breakfast each morning, and share your special brand of Aloha with our guests.
• Use laundry machines for sheets, towels, etc.
• Participate in deep cleaning of common areas.
• Light office work (preparing registration cards, processing payments, taking reservations, etc).
• Welcoming and checking in guests, helping them get oriented, answering questions, etc.
• Must have a smartphone that can run whatsapp (internal communication) and zoom to participate in call queues, answer guest calls, etc.
• Generally available for late check ins and after hours emergencies. The most typical tasks in this category are answering buzzing guests in at the gate, or answering a call from someone who did not understand the late check in instructions.

Grounds / Maintenance Focused Role:

• Reports to Director of Engineering, compensation range: $15-18/hr, DOE
• Responsibilities Include:
• Mowing (primarily a riding lawn mower), weed whacking, and other grounds maintenance tasks.
• Basic handyman type tasks: unclogging sinks / toilets, fixing minor damage to rooms, etc.
• Painting and general building maintenance, at the direction of the manager.
• Supporting light construction as needed.
• Must have a smartphone that can run whatsapp for internal communication.
• Generally available after hours for emergencies. The most typical task in this category is fixing a sink / toilet that cannot wait until morning.

Housing is provided, but not “included” - meaning that there will be a deduction applied to your earnings to cover your housing. Housing options for couples may include studio and one bedroom units, depending on availability. Things like healthcare, 401k, etc are available for longer term engagements, following a trial period.
