Job Title: Resident Campground Host
TWO ONE-MONTH POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR SEPTEMBER (MUST START SEPTEMBER 1ST!) Possible October extention.
Project Duration: 4 weeks minimum. Minimum 24 hours per week. (3 days on, 3 days off, rotating schedule).
General Description of Duties: Thorough cleaning and routine maintenance of campground bathhouses and camp sites. Campground hosts will be required to provide public relations and general park information. Monitor activities in the campground; notify park staff when action is needed. Maintain campground facilities and sites to Florida Park Service standards set by the Park Manager. Work on special projects as designated by management.

Goal/Outcome of Job: Provide professional services to park visitors by maintaining clean and safe campsites, grills, restrooms, and walking paths.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Desired: No particular knowledge or experience required, however knowledge of the Florida Park System, and/or experience as a Camp Host is desired. Must have the abilities to follow verbal and/or visual instructions independently or with the assistance of a companion, to withstand exposure to the outdoors in Florida weather for hours at a time, and lift up to 25 lbs. Skills in maintaining clean facilities, following through with assignments, and communicating effectively to park visitor, park staff, and park management is a must. Training will be provided at orientation of specific job duties.
Special Requirements: Volunteer Uniform must be worn when on duty as per Florida Park Service Standards, which can be found in the Volunteer handbook. Minimal negative discussion amongst fellow camp hosts, visitors, and park staff that could potentially damage the reputation of the park or the Florida Park Service is required. Issues are to be resolved and discussed with park management as soon as, or if a problem arises. Must be willing to accommodate schedule changes at management’s discretion. Must follow all rules and regulations in the Florida State Park Volunteer Handbook and as discussed at orientation.
