Property Manager(s) - Howardsville, VA

Avon Hill seeks an experienced individual or couple for a full-time year round Property Manager.  Avon Hill Lodge and Bruce’s Barn is a highly rated, family owned vacation rental and event venue located on 100 acres in rural Howardsville, Virginia.  With spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Avon Hill is located at the confluence of the Rockfish and James Rivers, 30 miles south of Charlottesville.  The on-site Property Manager will be responsible for:

• Managing and maintaining all on-site buildings including four rental buildings, event barn, residence and two farm barns.
• Managing and maintaining the 100-acre property including the boxwood gardens, hiking trails, tree and shrubs, gravel roads, use and repair of small engine equipment and oversight of the landscape/lawn care team member(s).
• Maintenance of the in-ground swimming pool.
• Oversight of housekeeping of rental buildings and event barn.
• Providing guests with an excellent customer experience.
• Managing and working with outside vendors and repair contractors.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of event furniture.

The ideal candidate has basic mechanical, carpentry, electrical and plumbing skills sufficient for maintenance and minor repairs, as well as basic computer skills.  Great communication and people skills are essential.  The highest level of honesty and integrity is an absolute requirement.  This position requires a person who can climb stairs, walk hills and lift at least 50 pounds without issue.  This is a lifestyle choice job for someone who loves being outdoors, is self-motivated and organized, active, and people friendly.

The Property Manager will live on the premises full time beginning January 1, 2023.  Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes lodging, utilities, fuel, and use of a work vehicle. Weekend and holiday work is required.
