Potter’s Farm Retreat Center, a non-profit educational organization in Washburn, Wisconsin, is in search of a Caretaker. The applicant must be 21 years of age or older, have appropriate work experience, skills and ability. Applicants will be self-motivated, able to work independently, are self-directed, and possess good management skills. Applicants who have a background or strong interest in nonprofits, carpentry, landscaping, permaculture, sustainability, nature, non-traditional or experiential education, and are respectful of varying spiritual traditions are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to those who have an undergraduate degree, equivalent practical experience or certification in a relevant field.
The Caretaker will run the day-to-day facilities, grounds, gardens of a northern Wisconsin retreat center and will act as a security presence and as a host for guests. The Caretaker will receive on-site housing including paid utilities in exchange for this work. The Caretaker has access to the 40 plus acres of land to include a pond, labyrinth, and hiking trails. Please note this job offers no wages or salary. We welcome joint applications by couples for this position.
This is a part-time permanent position, and is available immediately. The Caretaker works approximately 25 hours a week fulfilling the responsibilities for the work exchange and reports to an appointed liaison of the Potter’s Farm, Inc. Board.
