Operator Team Job Description

2022 Season

Yoke Pond Camps, Inc. (YPC) is seeking an Operator Team (OT) to be responsible for the day-to-day management, supervision of employees, hands-on work and successful operation of YPC.  YPC is a private fishing camp located in the North Maine Woods about 45 minutes from Brownville Junction, Maine, which operates seasonally from early May through early October.  YPC has 30 members, and the physical facility includes six rustic cabins, GM’s residence, a staff cabin, a main (kitchen/dining) building and assorted out buildings.

This is a “hands-on” position with the successful candidates having a working knowledge of not only how to run an “off-the-grid” camp but also the ability and willingness to perform all tasks required to keep the camp operating.  The OT is a combination of friendly and knowledgeable hosts, manager of operations, cook, house keeper and hands-on facilities manager.  The OT position is collaborative and the OT must have the ability to communicate effectively with multiple constituencies.  Key interfaces are with the members and their guests, part-time staff, if any, occasional contractors, wildlife management officials and the local community.  OT should be adaptable to varied tempo of work throughout the season, at times slow enough to allow for recreational pursuits and at other times hectic and requiring long dedicated hours.  

The OT reports to the President and Board of Directors of Yoke Pond Camps.  Two to five years minimum experience in outdoor recreation management or related fields required.  Housing, meals and use of a pick-up truck during season are provided as part of the compensation and benefits package along with salary and health benefits commensurate with experience.  This listing is for employment for the 2022 season and beyond.
