This is a challenging, fast-paced job with lots of opportunities to apply your people, organization, and management skills—all in a vacation-based environment at one of the nicest settings in the State! Primarily a seasonal (eight months full time with a minimum of 4 weeks paid vacation), and a salary commensurate will full-time employment, paid on an annual basis (however, arrangements could be made for seasonal work). The job demands full-time hours between March 1 and September 30.
The ideal candidate for Resort Manager is someone with enthusiasm, vision, high standards, a strong work ethic, and great project management skills and business acumen. No experience in the hospitality industry is required, provided the candidate has a background in management, is a “go-getter” and has strong business acumen and people skills. As Resort Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a diverse and collaborative team including guest services, housekeeping, grounds and maintenance, and food and beverage. You will ensure that all aspects of the guest experience—from the customer and hospitality side to the grounds and maintenance—are top-notch. You will help set the standard for ensuring smooth team operations, responsive and friendly guest interactions, and quality customer service. As part of the Resort’s leadership team, it is your job to lead your team by example, inspiring a "can do", whatever-it-takes guest service attitude, implementing as well as influencing, the vision for the Resort.
The Resort Manager will:
- Manage the resources and assets of the property, including staff, grounds, improvements, amenities, and guest experience, to ensure a clean, welcoming, and well-run Resort.
- Hire, coach, and train Staff, particularly on the front-of-house side, with customer service, billing/transactions, and efficiency.
- Direct and implement policies and procedures pertaining to day use, season passes, cottages, seasonal mobiles, moorage, rentals, and merchandise and food and beverage sales.
- Order and manage inventory and practices for the general store.
- Ensure quality and cleanliness of cottages and associated guest experience.
- Administer rental agreements for seasonal mobiles, and all releases and agreements pertaining to day passes, season passes, moorage, cottages, and other uses of the Resort.
- Be self-directed and work productively in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Understand and apply aspects of resort and property management, including applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide vision, leadership, and assist with business development.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in management, business, and in food and beverage, with the ability to lead and oversee our new waterfront restaurant in conjunction with general resort management.
This is an active role and requires being on your feet, and actively involved in engaging with guests or handling the myriad of tasks involved in ensuring that the front-of-house and back-of-house aspects of the resort are in near-perfect shape for our guests. Other Important Information
Loon Lake is approximately 25 miles north of Spokane, Washington. On-site waterfront living accommodations are negotiable. The Resort is open seasonally from approximately April 1-September 30. The position will be very active/full-time seasonal between April and October, with the opportunity for vacation, flex-time, or reduced hours for the balance of the year.
Living accommodations (including for family) are available as part of compensation.
