WHY DO WE SHOW EXPIRED LISTINGS?
Neighborhood Foster Parents will be responsible for the everyday care of the children placed in their home. They will also be responsible for the coordination of all medical, dental, and developmental care needed by the children in their home. The couple will live in an agency home with three to four children from birth to six years old. The couple will be licensed foster parents. Together, the Neighborhood Foster Parents will share the responsibility for providing 24-hour care to the children in the home in a family setting. In each Neighborhood Foster home in the residential neighborhood, one Foster Parent will be permitted to work outside of the home.
One of the functions of our Neighborhood Foster Care Program is to remove the common barriers that adults encounter in an effort to become licensed foster parents. Our Neighborhood Foster Care Program takes place in our organization’s gated community of ten homes. These homes are fully furnished and provide enough space to care for children and maintain Licensing Standards. Additionally, living in a neighborhood of foster families allows both the adults and children within the neighborhood to be surrounded by like-minded individuals who are committed to supporting one another. Living in the Neighborhood includes access to program managers and other staff members who have extensive experience in and knowledge of the child welfare system. These staff members can provide support to foster families, helping foster families to stay informed regarding their children’s cases, manage behaviors, and receive additional emotional support.
