JOB DESCRIPTION

Abe’s Okoboji Motel & Suites manager provides overall leadership, guidance, and direction to the motel team as it strives to provide the highest quality in standards and services. In addition, this individual acts as the main liaison between the client and motel staff. The motel manager also ensures that motel and client financial obligations are met.

Special qualifications: The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services, entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business is essential to success in this role. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, support staff, and owners. Ability to respond effectively to changing demands.

Experience: A minimum of two year's experience in motel or hospitality industry required. Pool certification a plus.

Education: Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor's degree in institutions' management, hospitality services, foods and nutrition, business administration or other related field.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• To monitor income and expenses, and supervise other staff.
• To hire assistant managers, housekeeping to supervise the various areas of the motel.
• To set schedules and order supplies.
• To market to individuals, businesses, and organizations our services to increase revenue and reduce expenses. 
• To monitor workers’ performance to make sure that company rules and policies are being followed.
• To maintain the cooperation with other departments to coordinate motel activities.
• To answer questions about motel policies and services and resolve customers’ complaints and answer customers’ questions about the area.
• To inspect motel for cleanliness and appearance.
• To maintain the coordination with the front-office duties and resolve problems.
• To collect payment and record money received and spent.
• To interview and hire staff.
• To perform other duties common with motel management and customer hospitality.

SKILLLS & SPECIFICATIONS

• The manager should have excellent customer and personal service.
• The manager needs to have proper knowledge in administration and management of business operations.
• The person should have a very good background in Mathematics and Accounting.
• He or she should be very fluent in speaking English language.
