Wanna make your job and relationship an adventure? Then come join us. We are looking for an energetic couple whose love of mountain sports and hospitality can find at home in our remote timber frame lodge and help us open this incredible alpine wilderness to muscle powered sports and adventure.
Among the Key Responsibilities are as follows:
1. Ensure full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOP’s, policies, procedures and service standards.
2. Lead allkey property issues including capital projects, customer service and refurbishment.
3. Manager the Lodge’s social media page – interacting with and acquiring new clients
4. Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
5. Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short and long-term strategic goals for the property.
6. Developing improvement actions, carry out costs savings.
7. A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies
8. Ensure those monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, on target and accurate.
9. Maximizing room yield and hotels / resort revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
10. Prepare a monthly financial reporting for the owners and stakeholders.
11. Draw up plans and budget (revenues,costs, etc.) for the owners.
12. Helping in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment and contracting with third-party vendors for essential equipmentsand services.
13. Act as a final decision maker in hiring akey staff.
14. Invoicing clients as needed and following up to ensure the rapid payment of money owed
15. Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
16. Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations both (internal & external audits).
17. Manage a small team of other employees, ensuring their continual performance
18. Filling in for other staff as needed.
19.Cooks guests' orders according to their preferences
20. Employs food safety best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the same
21. Selects choice ingredients that will give dishes the best flavour
22. Determines how much food to order and maintains an appropriate supply at the restaurant
23. Keeps up with trends in cooking and the restaurant business to ensure that guests have a positive experienc
24. Works quickly and accurately during busy periods, such as weekends and evenings
25. Occasionally takes on extra duties, such as cleaning, when the kitchen is short-staffed or the restaurant is particularly busy
26. Takes direction and works with the restaurant's administrative team
Key Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Lodge General Manager
- A university degree in hotel management or a related field with Experience in opening, managing orre-positioning a hotel with clear track record. Excellent computer system skills.
- Minimum of five years of experience in hotel management (six if no education is present)
- A strong understanding of kitchen management,food costing, and yield management
- Working knowledge of financial statements(P&L, CFS, BS)
- Knowledge of QuickBooks online a plus
- Experience managing social media a plus
- Mechanically minded a plus
Lodge Chef
- Associate Degree in Culinary Arts required (Bachelor’s preferred
- 3+ years’ experience as a Chef in a full-service restaurant
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Dedicated to food quality and control
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards

Work Structure:
The Lodge at Black Rapids is located at 227 RichardsonHighway. Naturally, this is a somewhat remote location – two and a half hours south of Fairbanks and forty minutes south of Delta Junction. This means that this position requires multiple weeks of work. As such, we are looking for a couple to live down at the Lodge for extended periods of time. Assignments vary depending on the season. For most of our seasons it can be anywhere between 4 to 6 months depending on the seasonality of the business.
Weare seeking a manager who enjoys extended periods of time being down at thelodge followed by extended periods of time off duty. We are offering paid timeoff depending on the seasonality of the business. We’re skiers and hikers too. We recognize that hard work should be following by lots of playtime!
Which is why we are offering both paid time on-site and paid time off sight.
Compensation and Benefits:
We are offering a base salary of $50,000 dollars annually with room-and-board included both on-site and off-duty. That is, while you’re not on duty, we are offering single-bedroom accommodation for you at our Fairbanks office. We are also offering incentive structures forupwards of 20% of your total salary.
Base Salary: $50,000 annual salary
Target Incentives:*Upwards of $10,000
Room and Board (Estimate Cost of Living): $20,000
For the second position, we are offering a base salary of $35,000 dollars annually with room and board on-site and off duty.
