The Inn is a 65 room historic building with a restaurant and lounge. The Resort & Golf Course is a 110 site RV park with a 9-hole golf course.
We are seeking outstanding Maintenance Worker.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform journey level work in painting, finishing and maintaining of a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structures.
Responsible for maintenance of guest rooms, public and back-of-the House areas, in accordance with procedures set forth by the Benbow Historic Inn.
Maintains good communication with other departments.
The painter prepares surfaces for painting and finishing; applies undercoats and finish coats using the full range of application methods and materials; mixes and matches paints and finishes; advises in the selection and storage of painting materials.

To ensure the Maintenance Department operates according to the policies and Procedures set forth by the Benbow Historic Inn.
Responsible for the day-to-day operation in areas related to the painter Department in conjunction with the Facilities Manager.
Prepares primes, sands, seals, patches and paints furniture, surfaces, buildings and fixtures utilizing all types of painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, water-proofing and heat resistant finishes.
Tapes, flushes, repairs and applies texturing, wallpaper and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces. Adjusts colors when necessary; utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriate.
Removes fixtures such as pictures, door knobs, lamps and electric switch covers prior to painting.
Graffiti removal from the interior and exterior of buildings.
Inspects jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
Estimates time and materials required; keeps records and submits reports of work performed.
Erects scaffolding, rigging and ladders as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes.
Reads work orders and/or receives instructions from supervisor in order to determine work requirements.
Offers assistance and advice on materials, designs and color.
Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electro-nic sprayers, pumps, etc. Safely stores and labels all materials.
Keep open communication with the facilities Manager and, Front Office Manager, and Maintenance supervisor.
Responsible to maintain maintenance shop, Basement, Boiler room area clean and neat, organized, secure conditions.
Offers guest assistance. When a guest asks for assistance, either provide the assistance immediately or immediately contact someone who can, and follow up to ensure the guest's needs is met.
Perform repairs listed on work orders and maintains the work orders as a record of work completed.
Tracks and records repairs. Makes repairs in a timely and professional manner.
Maintains cleanliness of storage shed, basement and maintenance office.
Notifies Manager when major repairs are needed.
Be familiar with all operating equipment.
Paint ceiling, walls, door frames, and floors within the facility.
Heavy labor including trenching, moving furniture, digging and heavy lifting.
Repair light fixtures, tile repair, electrical repair, plumbing repair, etc. as needed.
Perform carpentry.
Ability to repair simple plumbing issues with buildings and/or irrigation.
Mow lawns, trim trees & brush.
Set up, take down or move tables and chairs as needed for events.
Assist in shipping & receiving.
Ensure that work is performed in compliance with safety procedures to protect the health and welfare of the Guest and staff.
Assist in repairing, installing, and constructing tables, shelves, cabinets, countertops and other wood fixtures; operate hand-held power tools in the process.
Ensures fire safety equipment (fire alarm system, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, etc.) are operational and that inspections are current, and forward inspection reports to Facilities Manager.
Ensures that all maintenance tools are in good working condition and stored neatly and securely in the maintenance room.
Performs other tasks as needed (including lifting and storing items, cleaning, etc.).
Additional Duties:
Perform duties as required by the Facilities Manager. Duties may change to ensure Maintenance Department runs optimally for guest comfort. See check list for additional duties.
