MANAGEMENT TEAM – WATERFRONT RESORT, LOON LAKE, WA
Our Resort, a family-owned business set on beautiful Loon Lake, WA that has served vacationers in the Pacific Northwest for 100 years, is looking for a team (couple) to manage or assist in management of our waterfront resort. Just 25-miles from the City of Spokane, we are a well-loved summer institution with some of the best lakefront access and beach in the region. Many of our guests have been coming for generations, and we strive to make each and every visit to the Resort the very best of its kind for each of our guests.
We are looking for a team who is interested in making a long-term commitment to the Resort. Housing can be provided, together with salaries commensurate with experience and responsibilities
As a Management Team, you will be responsible for all aspects of Resort operations, including managing a diverse and collaborative team including guest services and front of house, housekeeping, grounds and maintenance, and food and beverage. While there is some office and strictly managerial work, these are “hands-on” positions where in many cases you will work side-by-side with employees, while ensuring that all aspects of the guest experience—from the customer and hospitality side to the grounds and maintenance—are top-notch. As part of the Resort’s leadership team, it is your job to lead your team by example, inspiring a "can do", whatever-it-takes guest service attitude, implementing as well as influencing, the vision for the Resort.
Desired skills—between the couple--include:
- Management experience
- Familiarity with office management and standard word processing and related software (MS Office, Word, Excel, or equivalents)
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and people skills
- Ability to develop and implement marketing, including through social media, website, and print mediums
- Strengths in maintenance, groundskeeping, and/or construction/contracting
- Level-headed and able to work under pressure
- Great work ethic and love of the outdoors
- Multi-tasker and strong project manager
- Familiarity with best management practices, relevant laws, and guidelines (labor standards, food/beverage-health requirements, safety, finances)
- Detail-oriented with a business mindset
Key Responsibilities for the team:
- Building and managing a successful team of front-of-house/customer service, housekeeping, grounds/maintenance, food and beverage, and associated personnel.
- Achieving top-notch standards for customer service and cleanliness or the Resort and cottages.
- Managing inventory and budgets and monitoring sales and profits.
- Updating and managing rental agreements, handling reservations, invoicing, administration related to day-to-day operations.
- Leading your teams and, where relevant working side-by-side them in daily operations.
- Inspecting facilities regularly to ensure highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and quality.
- Maintaining and beautifying the roughly 20-acre Resort grounds, including docks, beaches, lawn areas, and structures.
- Performing general repairs and maintenance (build decks, repair fences or stairs, fix broken doors or cabinets, maintain equipment, rake, mow, landscape, and keep an organized, and well-run shop).
- Maintaining infrastructure (water system, septic system, roads)
- Keeping accurate records of inventory, finances, repairs, and maintenance.
- Creating a safe environment throughout the resort for all guests and associates.
The position(s) are challenging and fast-paced during the months of June, July, and August, with more flexibility on the shoulder season, and vacation and/or special projects in the off-season. This is an opportunity to apply your people, organization, and management skills—all in a vacation-based environment at one of the nicest settings in the State! Primarily a seasonal (March-October) job, but with some year-round administrative responsibilities, on-site housing provided, and a salary commensurate will full-time employment.
