Job Summary:
Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate the workers and resources of the Club for the efficient, well-prepared, and profitable service of food and beverage operations. Further this position will act as the representative of the Lodge Board of Directors in managing the physical assets, properties and lodge rentals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsible for bar and food operations during regular business hours. The House Committee will set the hours that the bar and restaurant are open for business.
· Club Manager is responsible for the overall business activity and lodge facility. The Club/Lodge Manager reports to the House Committee Chairman and the Chairman of the Lodge Board of Directors.
· Responsible for kitchen and meals associated with lodge functions. If paid help is required it must be pre approved by the House Committee.
· Manager will work with the House Committee to develop a business plan and will execute said plan with support and assistance from the committee.
· Responsible, with assistance from the House Committee, for promotion of the facility including the hall lounge, kitchen, R. V. Park, and lodge functions via emails, the Lodge web site, Facebook and Twitter..
· Will manage the facility via the rules and rates prescribed by the House committee and Board of Directors.
· Will report to and take an active role at House Committee meetings..
· Participate in the preparation the annual budget for the House Committee and reporting the P&L relative to budget, both current and YTD at the House Committee meeting each month. Report will be for the prior month.
· Responsible for maintaining Cost of Goods Sold for food and beverage sales at or below 35%
· Will remit all receipts and expenditures to the Lodge Secretary as prescribed by our Bylaws.
· Responsible for acquiring and managing all supplies necessary for the lodge including beverages, food, cooking, serving and cleaning supplies.
· Will assist the House Committee when inventories are conducted by producing relevant reports from the POS system.
· Will operate the facility in accordance with all applicable laws and health department standards and will insure that renters comply as well.
· Responsible for the cleanliness of the entire facility and property as prescribed by the House Committee.
· You are responsible to insure that the opening and closing procedures, as specified by the House Committee, are followed any day we are open.
· Perform tasks on the Daily work schedule
· Maintain regular office hours to receive documents, packages, deliveries, greet visitors, assist RV parking, open the bar, provide supervision for repairs or maintenance, and show the lodge to prospective renters.
· Change the lettering on the outdoor signs as needed
· Maintain a prioritized Master List of projects
· Coordinate and assist volunteers that are helping with projects at the lodge
· Respond to calls from the Alarm company as needed
· Provide Instructions to volunteer cooks and bartenders to insure consistency of service and quality of food. Make sure they understand their duties include cleaning up and taking out the trash. Also insure they know how to turn off equipment, break down boxes, and are aware of the location of the key for the dumpster.
· Be a member of the lodge and participate in lodge activities as a volunteer from time to time.
· Wash linens and towels not related to rentals.
· Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
· Strong interpersonal skills
· 2 years bar/restaurant management required
· Demonstrated experience with cost control and inventory management
· Computer skills including email, Word, Excel, Quicken, POS equipment, and social media including Facebook, Twitter, and web site management.
· Experience networking with event planners
· A college degree is not required but is a plus
Compensation:
additional compensation possible depending on the scope of work agreed to.
This position is subject to a probation period. Either party can terminate employment at any time.
The “lodge” encompasses all aspects associated with the facility including the kitchen, lounge, dining room, meeting hall, R.V. Park, restrooms, storage shed and several ancillary rooms.
Dress and Conduct:
Neat, clean attire to be worn while serving members and guests. An Elks shirt will be worn while on duty. One shirt will be provided by the lodge. 1 replacement shirt each year. Additional shirts will be at your expense.
Conduct to be courteous, helpful and professional.
Hours of Work and additional compensation:
· Saturday-Monday- Closed
Tuesday through Friday – Lodge and Bar Open 4PM till 8PM - During bar hours the Club Manger must be at the lodge unless there is an emergency. You will use one additional hour each day shopping or misc work around the lodge- the front doors will be locked.
· You will receive a 10% commission for the gross amount of all rentals and catering excluding damage fees, security fees, services offered at a discount,
· $100 to clean the lodge after rentals and $30 for washing the linens from rentals
· $10 per hour for non-volunteer work

· Free meals on days when the lodge is serving food
